On Sunday, 9 March 2025, TAQWA joined with community partners to host an unforgettable Iftar for Palestine at Queens Gardens, Brisbane City.
As the sun set, more than 300 people came together to break fast in solidarity with the people of Palestine. The evening was filled with warmth, generosity, and a spirit of resilience.
Highlights of the event included:
Shared community meal with halal and vegetarian options, provided by both caterers and community contributions.
Heartfelt speeches and reflections reminding us of the ongoing strength of Palestinian families.
Unity across the community, with people of all ages and backgrounds joining the table side by side.
💛 Funds raised on the night supported TAQWA’s ongoing work assisting refugee families settling in Queensland.
🙏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and contributed food, time, or donations. Together, we showed the true meaning of community and solidarity.
