On Monday, 21 October 2024, TAQWA partnered with BDS Youth Magandjin and Muslim Students for Palestine to host a powerful film screening of Palestine Under Siege at the University of Queensland, Abel Smith Theatre.
The screening was part of the National Week of Action, marking a year of the genocide in Palestine and bringing the Brisbane community together in solidarity.
The evening featured:
🎥 A moving documentary capturing stories of resilience and struggle from Palestinians living under occupation.
🗣️ Post-screening reflections and discussions, offering a space for dialogue, learning, and community action.
🤲 A catered dinner and congregational prayer, strengthening bonds within the community.
💛 All proceeds from the evening supported TAQWA’s work with refugee families in Queensland.
🙏 We extend our gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, and stood in solidarity. Events like this remind us of the importance of awareness, advocacy, and unity.
